Happy 1st Birthday Landen and Lauren

Happy 1st Birthday To My Little Babies!

Landen & Lauren turned One today. Where did the year go to?

Today we had a birthday party for them, and had some family and friends celebrating with us. The each got several outfits, and toys, along with some cash for thier piggy banks. They were such good babies today. They ate turkey, fruit salad and CAKE! Each baby had thier own cakes, Lauren was kind of picky with it and just put her little fingers on it but that was about it. Landen on the other hand destroyed it. There was nothing left of that cake. He even had blue frosting up his nose.

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

It rained all night last night, and all day today. Its so gloomy out, the leaves are all falling off the trees. You can sure tell winter is not far behind.

Landen & Lauren are still sick with ear infection. They don't seem as bad today, but I can tell towards evening that Landens ears are really bothering him. I've been putting warm baby oil on a little piece of cotton and putting in his ears while he drinks his last bottle. It seems to help him fall asleep. Hopefully they are better soon. Sure wouldn't be fun to be sick on your First Birthday.

Marks Mom and Grandpa are coming to spend a few days at our house, starting tomorrow. They will be here through the weekend and help the kids celebrate thier birthday. I'm hoping we have a decent turnout, especially since we're having plenty of food. Don't need that to go to waste.

This is a little video that I made from pictures of Landen and Lauren, thier first year. Makes me sad to look back and see how much they have changed.

I better call it a night and get some sleep. I have a long day ahead of me making turkeys and getting things ready.

Both Kids Are Sick

I took Landen to the ER late Sunday Night. He woke up screaming, and had a temp of 102.6. They diagnosed him with double ear infection, and sent us home with some Zithromax, once a day for 5 days.

Today was day #3 of the medication with no improvements. Lauren was also starting to pull at her ears, so I took them both back in to be checked. Now they both have double ear infection. Nothing like two crabby babies at the same time :)

Hopefully the new medication will kick in soon, and they will be happy and healthy in time for their birthday party on Saturday!

A little bit about us

Welcome to our Blog. We are a typical family of four, living in Southern Minnesota.

My husband and I were married October 1st, 2005. Mark (28) works full time in the sales industry, while I (26) am blessed to be able to stay home with our twins, Landen & Lauren who will be One on October 25th.

That's right, one year old twins. Where did the last year go to? It seems like I was just at the hospital, checking myself in to be induced so I could finally see my two precious miracles.
After my doctor broke my water, I still wasn't feeling any contractions. Within time, the contractions came on, stronger and stronger. I was almost ready to push when they lost one of the heartbeats. Instantly, our doctor said we were having the babies, and we were having them NOW. I was rushed in for an emergency c-section at 7:15pm. Landen Thomas was born at 7:25pm with his sister, Lauren Rose following at 7:26pm. I was put out for the c-section, and the last thing I remember the nurses telling me was I was going to sleep. When I woke up, it was 9:05pm. I could hear the doctors and nurses saying I was in recovery for another 10 minutes, then they would take me back to my room. Still, not seeing my babies, or at that point knowing if they even pulled through, I finally got enough strength to yell out, "Where are my babies?" The best words I ever heard were, "They are fine hun, Daddy has been holding them for the last hour". Instantly I started crying. Not long after, I was pushed out of the operating room, down the hall to my room where I seen my husband standing in the window of the nursery holding Landen, and a nurse standing next to him holding Lauren. Thank You God for letting me have two healthy babies! That being said, it has been so much fun watching them grow and change over the last year. It's amazing how much they are alike, but yet so different. Landen is crawling and getting into everything, including pouring out the water from the cats dish, and playing in the food, while Lauren has no intentions of crawling, she still gets into everything. She scoots around on her butt everywhere she wants to go. My mom said I did the same thing, so at least she's taking after me a little bit. Landen is a spitting image of his daddy. He has his facial features, his hair, and his cute little dimples. Lauren is kind of a mixture. Lots of people say she looks like me, others say she looks like her dad. I guess it depends on who you talk to, who knew Mark or myself as a baby to compare her to. All I know is she is a miracle, and we are blessed to have her after the delivery I went through.

We also have one spoiled rotten cat, Whitney. I swear she thinks shes my child too. She comes when I call her name, she snuggles up with me in bed, follows me through the house, and trips me if her food dish is getting low. We've had Whitney for over 3 years now, so she is just like part of the family.

Even though I stay home with the twins all day, things can still get pretty hectic around here. I try to keep the house cleaned up, and the dishes done, the kids are always taken care of, and I will sure try to get on here daily to post about our exciting little lives.

More to come from the Laudenbach's
